Southern Constructors proudly completed the Lafitte Park Boardwalk and Fishing Pier in Abbeville, LA, revitalizing a beloved community green space and providing safe, convenient access to outdoor recreation for residents and visitors alike. Working under the City of Abbeville, our team handled the full scope — from demolition and site clearing of the old drive-in structures to pile driving, foundation installation, and construction of a new elevated timber boardwalk. The project also included a new 120-foot-long, 8-foot-wide fishing pier with a spacious 15-foot by 15-foot observation platform, ADA-compliant ramps, paved walking trails, and improved park drainage for long-term safety and durability. Completed in June 2023, just in time for Father’s Day weekend, the new boardwalk and pier offer expanded opportunities for fishing, wildlife viewing, and community gatherings.
